Brake System Training
Since deciding to dedicate our resources to the forensics investigative side of the business,  our classroom based Air Brake Training Courses have taken a back seat.
However, on several occassions I have assisted clients, mostly fleet operators, with customised brake system training of their maintenance staff on site, at the coal face as it were.
On request, we can compile fleet specific training for the maintenance personnel that will assist in keeping the vehicles they look after roadworthy and most importantly safe and help ease the operators' worries that an accident claim will be repudiated due to avoidable maintenace issues.
Training material that has been compiled over the years ranges from basic operation and maintenance to designing a brake system for vehicle homologation at the NCRS (SABS).
A lot of the material has been compiled in house to meet the needs of specific clients, including animated clips that demonstrate the operation of common brake components such as the trailer brake actuator and foundation brake seen above.
Many operators only find out that all is not well in their workshops after an accident. To help prevent this, we can conduct a brief survey of the fleet and present the operator with recommendations regarding maintenance practices and possible training needs.
